Public Hearing Announcement
The Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board (RRCSB) and Area Agency on Aging (AAA) for Virginia's Planning and Service Area (PSA) 9, DBA Encompass Community Supports (ECS), will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, 23 June 2026 at 1:00 pm. The purpose of the hearing is to receive comments on the proposed Area Plan for Aging Services and on Services provided under the Agency's Performance Contract with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services for Fiscal Year 2027. Anyone unable to participate in the hearing who wishes to make comments or inquiries should contact Executive Director, Sheryl Reinstrom, or Tina Schilling, Director of Community Connections for Older Adults, in writing to P.O. Public Notice – Environmental Permit
Purpose of notice: To seek public comment on certain provisions of a draft permit from the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to limit air pollution emitted by a facility in Fauquier County, Virginia.
Public comment period: April 15, 2026 to May 15, 2026

Project description: ODEC has applied for a modification to the permit for ODEC – Marsh Run Generation Facility. The facility is classified as a major source of air pollution. The proposed change in emissions would be 27.11 tons/yr of CO, 0.03 tons/yr of VOC, -1.79 tons/yr of SO2, and -16.22 tons/yr of PM10 and PM2.5. The permit modification would allow the source to install upgrades on each of the combustion turbines and continue to operate emission units at the electric power generating facility.
HOW TO COMMENT AND/OR REQUEST A PUBLIC HEARING: DEQ is accepting comments on the significant modification Conditions 3, 8 through 16, 19, 21, 25, 26, 29 through 36, 40, 48, 69, 70, and 74 only. DEQ accepts comments and requests for public hearing by hand-delivery, e-mail, or postal mail. All comments and requests must be in writing and be received by DEQ during the comment period. Submittals must include the names and mailing addresses or email addresses of the commenter/requester and of all persons represented by the commenter/requester. A request for public hearing must also include: 1) The reason why a public hearing is requested. 2) A brief, informal statement regarding the nature and extent of the interest of the requester or of those represented by the requester, including how and to what extent such interest would be directly and adversely affected by the permit. 3) Specific references, where possible, to terms and conditions of the permit, with suggested revisions. Please note this draft permit is being concurrently reviewed as a proposed permit by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. A public hearing may be held, including another comment period, if public response is significant, based on individual requests for a public hearing, and there are substantial, disputed issues relevant to the permit.

Notice is hereby given that Advanced Medical Transportation LLC, 4252 Ashmere Cir, Dumfries, Virginia 22025, has filed an application for a certificate of public convenience and necessity that would authorize: 1. Passenger transportation as a Common Carrier over Irregular Routes, providing service in the Cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Fredericksburg, Manassas, Manassas Park, and Richmond, Virginia, and the Counties of Arlington, Caroline, Chesterfield, Culpeper, Fairfax, Fauquier, Hanover, Henrico, King George, Loudoun, Orange, Prince William, Spotsylvania, and Stafford, Virginia and; 2. Written protests must be mailed to DMV Motor Carrier Services, Attn: Operating Authority, P. O. Box 27412, Richmond, VA 23269-0001 and must be postmarked on or before May 14, 2026.
Any protest filed with competent evidence will be carefully considered by DMV, however, DMV will have full discretion as to whether a hearing is warranted based on the merits of the protest filed.
