NOTICE OF HEARING VIRGINIA: IN THE GENERAL DISTRICT COURT OF FAUQUIER COUNTY IN RE: ONE TAN AND WHITE MALE GOAT CASE NO: GC26000008-00 The owner of a tan and white male goat further described herein shall take notice that on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the case may be heard, the Fauquier County General District Court, located at 6 Court Street, Warrenton, Virginia, will conduct a hearing. The purpose of the hearing is to consider the petition of the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors, ex rel. Fauquier County Sheriff's Office, Animal Control Division (Petitioner), filed pursuant to Code of Virginia § 3.2-6569 to determine whether said goat was abandoned, and if so, the Court will decide Petitioner's authority to dispose of the goat pursuant to subsection D of § 3.2-6546 of the Code of Virginia. Said goat was located on December 23, 2025 at 35748 John S Mosby Highway, Middleburg, Fauquier County, Virginia. The goat is a tan and white male goat with no ear tag or other identifying information. The State Veterinarian and the County Attorney's Office were contacted. The goat was seized and impounded pursuant to Code of Virginia § 3.2-6569. The owner of said goat is hereby notified of the hearing and the need to appear at the hearing to protect their interests.
