NOTICE Board of Equalization of Real Estate Assessments Seeking Members Notice is hereby given that the 20th Judicial Circuit Court of Virginia is seeking applicants to serve a one-year term on the Fauquier County Board of Equalization (BOE) for the general reassessment effective January 1, 2026. The BOE is comprised of five members who are Fauquier County residents and a majority are property owners of Fauquier County. Appointees are selected by a majority vote of the five Circuit Court Judges. At least thirty percent (30%) of the appointees shall be commercial or residential real estate appraisers, other real estate professionals, builders, developers, or legal or financial professionals. To be eligible for appointment, each member shall attend and participate in the basic course of instruction given by the Department of Taxation under Code of Virginia § 58.1-206.
