Apprenticeship Applications
The Washington, DC Joint Steamfitting Apprentice Committee (Steamfitters Local 602) will accept applications for the 2026-2027 first year class as follows:
Applications will be taken online ONLY
starting November 1, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. and
closing on November 30, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.

Requirements for Steamfitter Program:
Minimum Age 18 by August 15, 2026
High School Graduate by June 30, 2026
Or GED
All Documents must be brought to our Landover, MD location to complete the application process. Dates, times and address for this will be given on the Thank You page after applying. Dates and times will also be listed on our website (602training.org) starting December 1, 2025. These documents will not be accepted outside of the listed dates and times:
Proof of age documentation - Government issued Passport, Birth Certificate, Driver's License, or State Identification Card, Naturalization Certificate, or Permanent Resident Card
Proof of Work Authorization - Social Security Card or Work Permit
Valid Driver's License or a State Issue Identification Card
Form DD214 (for veterans of military service only)
Transcript of High School Grades (must show all classes taken & graduation date or diploma received)
OR
High school seniors must present a letter on school letterhead from a high school official verifying graduation before June 30, 2026, with Transcript of High School Grades
OR
GED Scores and certificate (only GEDs that are American Council of Education accredited will be accepted. Visit www.acenet.edu for further information.)
Any and all foreign documents must be accompanied by a translation of that document and a letter from your embassy stating its authenticity. If the document is a diploma and/or transcript, the letter must also document the equivalency of said diploma and/or transcript.
