At the Manassas City Council meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025 the City Council will hold a public hearing, pursuant to Virginia Code Sec. 15.2-1800, at the City Hall Council Chambers, 9027 Center Street, 1st Floor to consider awarding a five (5) year non-exclusive franchise to SummitIG, LLC to renew their franchise for the installation, operation and maintenance of underground telecommunication conduits, cables, lines, wires, fibers, equipment and related facilities in public rights-of-way within the City of Manassas.
Interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing and provide comment on the proposed franchise. The full text of the proposed franchise ordinance is on file and available for inspection in the Department of Community Development, located on the 2nd floor of City Hall, 9027 Center Street, Manassas, VA 20110. Members of the public can also submit comments to the City Council by visiting www.manassasva.gov/comhearing, email to MayorandCouncil@manassasva.gov or written comments may be submitted by mail or in person no later than 3:00 pm on October 27th, 2025 to the Clerk of City Council at 9027 Center Street, 4th floor.
This hearing is being held in a public facility believed to be accessible to persons with disabilities. Any persons with questions on accessibility of the facility should contact the Clerk of Council at the above address, by telephone at (703) 257-8211, or by email to ewsmith@manassasva.gov. Persons needing interpreter services for the hearing impaired and / or vision impaired should notify the City Clerk at least one week before the scheduled hearing.
The person or corporation to whom the franchise is awarded shall reimburse the City for the cost of this advertisement.

The State Veterinarian and the County Attorney's Office were contacted. The cattle were seized and impounded pursuant to Code of Virginia § 3.2-6569.
