Notice is hereby given that the City Council will conduct a public hearing on the following item(s). All interested parties are encouraged to present their views at this hearing.
REZ#2026-0002 - Center Street Parking Garage & Apartments (MIFCO) -
9007 Center Street
To consider a rezoning to B-3.5 City Center Planned and HOD, with proffers to allow construction of a new public parking garage and 162-unit apartment building. The property is located on the existing City Hall parking lot and former MIFCO property and is designated as an opportunity site for redevelopment in the Downtown Character Area of the 2045 Comprehensive Plan. This rezoning is part of the larger downtown redevelopment proposal for City Hall and the former Olde Towne Inn and MIFCO properties.

The nearest cross streets are Center and Main Streets and Center Street and Fairview Avenue. The redevelopment of the Olde Towne Inn property for a new hotel does not require a rezoning.

In person comments are also permitted.
This meeting is being held in the City Hall Council Chambers, 9027 Center Street, in a public facility believed to be accessible to persons with disabilities. Any person with questions on the accessibility of the facility should contact the City Clerk at the above address or by telephone at 703-257-8280. Persons needing interpreter services for the deaf must notify the City Clerk no later than 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
